The Elderhood Project

KHON2 moves into the second year of its Elderhood Project. Elders and their caregivers will find positive solutions to challenges families will face as parents age. Kirk Matthews and the KHON2 news team, along with experts in many fields, will examine the issues that matter to seniors, their families and the community.

During the first year of the Elderhood Project, we touched on such themes as medical care, social welfare and pedestrian safety. The Elderhood Project is always interested in community input and if you have a subject you believe needs to be addressed, please feel free to e-mail us.

We have established positive relationships with the Council on Aging, the University of Hawaii, AARP and the Hawaii Caregivers Coalition. With their help and the help of many more, we want to provide the best information available for seniors and their families. Hawaii’s seniors, on the average, live longer than those anywhere else in the country. We want to be certain the quality of life matches that longevity.
